Technical Support of Legal DepartmentsWhere Law Firms and Engineers Intersect • Due diligence for partnerships, revenue sharing programs and acquisitions• Consultations for tests of reasonableness• Government contract bid protest support• Expert witness and witness vetting• Engineering language in contracts and letters of agreementThe legal profession relies on engineers on a regular and frequent basis. The typical scenario we all read about is the use of engineers, scientists, and subject matter experts in testimony during litigation or in preparation for litigation. There are many other situations and projects where engineers can play a valuable role in the work of the legal profession. Consultation can support either plaintiffs or defendants in a legal matter.
Two examples of law firm support in which Experium has significant experience:
• Due diligence efforts of various types.• Government (U.S.) contract bid protests. In these cases, engineering consultants, among other professionals, work closely with the legal team to support either the contact winner, and the government agency that awarded the contract, or the contract protester. In current times, bid protests are common and occur on many government contract decisions.Working TogetherOur process is straightforward. We are happy to sign your non-disclosure agreement or other documents that you use to protect your interests. Our own contract is a simple agreement that outlines the scope of work, billing rate for each consultant, and maximum expenditure for labor and expenses during the engagement. Invoices are provided on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the scope of the work. Phone consultations less than 15 minutes during a given consultation effort are not charged.
